Clinical History:
This ia a 60-year-old male with prostate cancer. No prior studies are available for direct comparison.
Technique
Three hours after the uneventful intravenous administration of 25.4mCi of 99mTc-MDP,whole body anterior and posterior planar images were obtained. In addition, static planar images of the calvarium were obtained in the right and left lateral projections.
Findings
There is marked heterogenous increased uptake of labeled phosphate throughout the axial and proximal appendicular skeleton. Patchy areas of increased uptake is also noted scattered throughout the rib cage as well as the calvarium bilaterally.
There appears to be diminished uptake by both kidneys with excretion into the urinary bladder.
Impressions
FINDINGS COMPATIBLE WITH A SUPERSCAN CONSISTENT WITH DIFFUSE OSSEOUS METASTASIS ABOUT THE CALVARIUM, AXIAL AND PROXIMAL APPENDICULAR SKELETON.
