Clinical History

The patient is a 66 year-old female with liver masses and status post placement of a hepatic artery infusion port.

Technique

The patient was injected with 5mCi of 99mTc-MAA into the Medtronics infusion port. The port was then flushed with heparin solution and imaging was initiated 10 minutes post-injection.

Findings

Images show perfusion of only the liver, without perfusion of any other viscera within the abdomen or lungs. The liver shows two large foci of photopenia, one within the lateral aspect of the right lobe in the posterior segment, and one in the medial portion of the superior left lobes that corresponds with the patient's history of thermal ablation.

Impression

HEPATIC ARTERY CATHETER APPEARS POSITIONED CORRECTLY IN SO FAR AS IT PERFUSES THE ENTIRE LIVER AND NO OTHER VISCERA.
