Clinical History
This is a 43-year-old patient with high cholesterol and
chest pain.
Technique
The patient was administered 21.1 millicuries of Tc-99m
Cardiolite on 10-31-96, and multigated images of the
myocardium were obtained. The following day, the
patient was stressed on a treadmill to 93 percent of
his maximal heart rate reaching a double product of
31,515 for 13 minutes. The patient was then injected
with 23 millicuries of Tc-99-m Cardiolite, and SPECT
images of the myocardium were obtained.
Findings
The perfusion of the myocardium appears normal. On
the multigated images, there is some thinning of the
apex, however, the contractility of this region appears
normal. The calculated left ventricular ejection
fraction is 55 percent.
Impressions
1. NO EVIDENCE OF DECREASED MYOCARDIAL
PERFUSION OF MYOCARDIAL INFARCT.
2. ESTIMATED LEFT VENTRICULAR EJECTION
FRACTION OF 55 PERCENT.
